Sweet Action Ice Cream is a Denver craft ice cream company known for inventive flavors, high-quality ingredients, and a strong neighborhood following. Our production facility supports our scoop shops, catering program, and growing wholesale business.
We’re looking for a Production & Operations Manager to lead our production kitchen and warehouse operations. This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for keeping production running smoothly, managing staff, and helping build the systems that support Sweet Action’s continued growth.

The ideal candidate runs a clean, organized, and efficient production environment and treats the facility as if it were their own. This role requires someone highly dependable, thoughtful, and capable of making sound decisions independently.
Core Responsibilities
Production Leadership
- Oversee day-to-day ice cream production
- Ensure batch consistency and product quality
- Coordinate production schedules with retail, catering, and wholesale demand
- Participate in production (approx. 30–50% of time depending on season)
Team leadership
- Hire, train, and supervise production staff
- Manage seasonal staff needs and turnover
- Build a positive, organized production culture
- Schedule shifts, manage labor needs, and respond to production issues as needed
Operations & warehouse
- Manage ingredient inventory and ordering
- Oversee warehouse organization and storage
- Coordinate deliveries and production logistics
- Oversee equipment maintenance and facility organization
Food safety & compliance
- Uphold and enforce our Food Safety Plan
- Ensure compliance with GMP and sanitation procedures
- Maintain production records and logs
Systems & process improvement
- Help develop and refine SOPs
- Improve production efficiency and workflow
- Identify operational improvements as the company grows
Qualifications
We’re looking for someone who:
- Has experience in food production, manufacturing, or commercial kitchens
- Has managed teams in a production environment
- Is dependable, organized and detail-oriented
- Has strong common sense and sound judgment
- Is comfortable taking ownership of day-to-day operations
- Can motivate and manage seasonal staff
- Is comfortable working both on the production floor and in a leadership role
Bonus experience:
- Food manufacturing or dairy production
- Inventory or warehouse management
- Food safety and compliance systems
Compensation & Benefits
- $30 – $35 hourly (approx. $60K – $70K annually), depending on experience
